2 tablespoons crushed caraway seed
1 tablesppon crushed fennel seed
1½ teasppons ground cumin
3 cups vodka
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
Combine caraway seed, fennel seen, cumin and vodka in a jar. Cover tightly and let steep for 2 weeks in a cool, dark place. Shake jar occasionally. When steeping period is complete, strain and filter the liquid.
Combind sugar and water in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar has completely didolved, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Combine sugare syrup with the filtered vodka mixture. Pour into botttles and cap tightly. Let age at least 1 month before serving.
