Crème De Menthe
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
3 cups vodka
2 to 3 teaspoons peppermint extract
Combine sugar and water in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over midium heat. Reduce heat and simmer unitl sugar has completely dissolved, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature
Combine sugar syrup, vodka, and ppermint extract, adding extract to taste. Pour into bottles and cap tightly. let age at least 1 month before serving.
Note: If you wish to make green crème de methe, simply add a few drops fo green food coloring.
